GET FAMILIAR — Bespoke / Custom Shoes

"People ignore design that ignores people." --Frank Chimer

That is fantastic, and I totally agree with Frank's approach towards design. Sense of Individualism has always been a motivating factor in driving our behaviours from shopping a wallet to looking for a spouse. We want a combination of design + style which can express who we are, or what we care about.

The same goes, when you are looking for a good shoe design. A good shoe design is the one which fullfill the need of supreme fit, comfort in walking and of course style.

We create or imagine our individual style by drawing inspirations from other designed stuff we encounter in everyday life. Thinking of a shoe style for ourselves not just involve the influence of other people styles but the comfort we feel in a adopting a style that fit to our personality and way of living. Not every one can wear shoes like Lady Gaga wear because people love to carry those shoes which are projection of their life style.

Think of how many shoes you have in your wardrobe that are purely of your dream? If not even a single one, then you truly need to turn your head around bespoke or custom made shoes.

People go for a custom or bespoke shoes when they have specific needs or desire in term of fit, pattern, color or a unique style. Need can be any but either way, bespoke or custom shoe is the coolest shoe you can get for so many reasons.

Now, there is a difference between custom and bespoke shoes. Custom made shoe is the one, made on the already existing shoe last, which means basic shape of your shoe would be same as to the existing model, but you can surely decide which color, leather of other details you want in your shoe.

While Bespoke, starts with a custom shoe last according to your feet, and each and everything is added and made as per client's choice and need. Which means client decides which design, material and shape he/she wants for his shoes.

Here are few things you should consider when getting for a custom / bespoke shoes.

Make sure to take proper measurements of your both feet, in millimetres.
• Not every good style is good for your personality, when you speak with your shoe maker, tell them your physical appearance and profession, so that the maker can give you his/her recommendations.
Leather is no doubt the best material for upper, but it comes in 100s of colours and style. So be careful when you are looking for a combination. It is important for durability.
Get them from a trustworthy handmade shoe makers, so that if things go wrong they would work to make them right.
